Desert Break

At the risk of sounding overly dramatic, I freaked out from the extended darkness of winter, bought a ticket to California and left 3 days later. I went to the desert and shot this with my iPhone. In fact, the best images I got were on my iPhone. Here's my favorite. I feel better already and my brother very kindly shipped me a SAD light upon my return. After 33 years in Alaska, I feel like I hit a wall in that I don't want to be here in winter this year. Am hoping it will pass. But for now, I'm feeding off the memory of feeling like I landed on a different planet in La Quinta with all things desert.
