Cold Snap!

The days are so short that there's hardly any time after work to do photography before sunset. Sigh. And these conditions are epic. My favorite even though it's really cold. The kind of cold where you have to return to your car after a few minutes to warm up. I was able to watch the moonrise around 4 pm from Earthquake park area over downtown and it was AMAZING. The moon was huge and its light shone a long entrenched path on the water. And tonight is a lengthy partial lunar eclipse. Anyway...I am working on a series of images with this fencing and I think this one is one of the stronger from the series. I like the golden, silver and white hues. It's minimal yet interesting. And although it is metal fencing and ice, the sunlight lends it an expected softness and warmth. It's a contradiction of sorts.
